How does monthly car rental work?
3 Easy Steps to Long Term Car Rental
Step 1: Choose your monthly plan
Select a car, bakkie or van, mileage option, and how long you need the vehicle. This is inclusive of Super Cover waivers.
Step 2: Pay on collection
Pay the refundable deposit and first month's rental when collecting vehicle. After that, you only pay your monthly rental.
Step 3: Renew every month
Once a month, one of our friendly staff members will call you to find out if you will be continuing with your monthly rental.
Minimum rental period and collection requirements
Our monthly rental rates apply to rentals of 30 days or longer. Extensions can be arranged with your branch before your agreed return date.
Before collecting your vehicle, please:
- Complete your booking form and online check-in
- Bring the required documents (copy of your ID and valid driving licence) with you to collection.
- Arrange payment of your first month’s rental and refundable security deposit.
Cash, EFT, debit card and credit card payment options are available, subject to your selected vehicle’s requirements.

- How much does long term car rental cost per month?
Pace has long term car rental from R5,499 per month. Your rate depends on the branch, vehicle group and mileage option you choose. Select a location on this page to view its published monthly rates.
- Are long term rental rates the same at every branch?
Check the rate table for the branch where you plan to collect the vehicle. Each branch has its own long term rates page, so compare the vehicle group and monthly rate at your chosen location.
- What does “or similar” mean in a rate table?
The named vehicle is an example of its rental group. Your booking is for that group, and the vehicle supplied may be a similar model.
- Is the refundable security deposit included in the monthly rate?
No. Branch rate tables list the monthly rental rate and refundable security deposit separately. Check both amounts when planning what you will need to pay at collection.
- How are extra kilometres charged?
Each vehicle group’s rate table shows an extra charge per kilometre. If you drive beyond the kilometres included in your rental, the additional distance is charged at the rate shown for your vehicle group.
- How do I compare two vehicles with different monthly rates?
Compare the monthly rate, included kilometres, extra charge per kilometre and refundable deposit. A lower monthly rate may not be the lowest overall cost if you expect to drive more than the included distance.
- How can I confirm the rate for my rental dates?
Choose your collection branch and vehicle group, then request a quote for your dates. Confirm the monthly rate, mileage allowance, deposit and any additional charges before booking.
